Fun for all at first ever festival

Live music, arts and crafts, children’s activities and food and drink will all be available at the first ever Halton Festival.

Live music, arts and crafts, children’s activities and food and drink will all be available at the first ever Halton Festival.

Taking place on the field at The Centre @Halton on Saturday, the event features up to 20 art, craft and food stalls alongside Greenlands Farm outdoor roadshow, a children’s activity tent, and a live outdoor music stage. Entry during the day, between 11am and 6pm, is free of charge.

Warton’s Old School Brewery will be manning the beer tent, and there will be a hog roast, Mexican food, sandwiches, cakes, hot paninis, ice cream and a licensed bar provided by local food outlets.

There will also be a skate competition on the adjacent skate park, which is considered to be one of the best in the north-west – only £5 for a day’s pass to take part in the competitions.

There will also be a “Big Gig” inside the hall in the evening, with Lancaster three-piece The Feud playing an exclusive headline electro set, with support coming from Jay Diggins, Greenheart and Stopwatch Wilson. Kristi Michele, Idol Minds, The Section, The Intensely Staring Cats and Molly Warburton and The Shady Days. Adam Lucas, one of the festival’s organisers, said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing all this entertainment together for a day and night of fun in the heart of Halton village.

We’ve lined up some great artists and performers to make sure the whole family is kept entertained throughout the day.

“We’re really excited about the evening event as well. We’ve handpicked this line-up and it should be a great night of music.”

Entry to the The Big Gig, from 7.30pm is £6 per ticket, or two tickets for £10. Minimum age for the evening Gig is 14 years old.
