Dire Straits’ co-founder comes to Lytham
The co-founder of 80s hit band Dire Straits is only playing five dates in the UK this year – and his Saturday date in Lytham is one of them.
The younger brother of Mark will be performing with his long-time friend Harry Bogdanovs and said: “I am certainly looking forward to coming to Lytham, we’ve done three shows now and we have two to go.

“We will have a variety, stuff which will make you happy, stuff which might make you want to cry,
“It’s a mix of styles, a mix of instruments, we’re aiming for the unexpected – but nothing too off the wall.”
“Harry is always on form. We’ve been performing together since for years and there’s a fun time to be had.
“We never leave an audience going away unhappy.”

Hide AdDavid was with Dire Straits for three years and, after leaving, pursued a solo career as a songwriter and recording artist.
He released his first solo album in 1983, has since released a further 11 albums and has written music scores including for the films Shergar and Laser Mission.
His passion for touring has certainly not dwindled over the years.
He said: “It’s fun. The two hours onstage is the easiest part, really.
