Dan’s brilliant, concise, smart pop tunes have drawn comparisons to everyone from Prince to Jake Bugg, while others have branded him “a latter-day Beck”.

Liverpudlian Dan, 22, can already count one of the world’s most famous musicians among his fans.

Studying for a Music degree at Liverpool Institute for Performing Art, Dan’s songwriting won him a one-on-one session with Paul McCartney, who was impressed with his work.

He started 2012 with one of his demos (Marion) as a Q Essential Download and another (Home) was picked up by Steve Lamacq on 6 Music, and ended it with his debut single ‘From Nowhere’ being hammered by Radio 1.

Dan has since found himself touring with Maps, Michael Kiwanuka and more.

Don’t be fooled by the sensitive accoustica or the Buddy Holly specs – Dan is a one-time rugby fanatic whose career in the sport at the highest level was only derailed by a broken leg and a former club doorman who lives above a strip joint.
