Unable to travel and promote his tales of urban fantasy and horror over the past eight months, he has found himself chained to his desk. This has resulted in the production of two books.

“It is safe to say that 2020 has been a very strange year indeed,” said Chambers, creator of the down at heel paranormal investigator Sam Spallucci, who lives and works in a fictional version of our very own Lancaster, “but it has meant that I’ve been able to concentrate far more on my writing.”

It saw the Lancastrian version of Philip Marlowe chasing down errant angels, a ghost dressed as a Cherokee Chieftain haunting a local supermarket and a time-travelling serial killer who met a grisly fate on Morecambe Promenade.

“Not being able to promote the book in the traditional manner,” Chambers said, “I had to think outside of the box somewhat, so I used Kickstarter and offered people the chance to be killed off in the book.

“It was immensely popular and the funding for the project was reached within the first hour of it’s launch.”
