Three Peaks Yorkshire: charity hike on April 25 in memory Patrick

On Saturday, April 25, a group of friends and family will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in memory of Patrick, the only child of Lisa, who passed away suddenly on March 10, 2024.

Lisa found him on that dreadful day. He was just 27 and would have been 28 the following month.

The hike is to raise money for the church at Holy Trinity Hoghton, where Patrick is buried, and for the Scripture Union. Holy Trinity do amazing work in the community and they have been immensely supportive since that day. Scripture Union work closely to develop young people both in and outside the church.

Patrick would also have been 30 on April 23 (St George’s day) this year so as well as remembering him, they are celebrating his birthday. A special memorial service will be held for Patrick at Holy Trinity Hoghton at 1pm on April 26. In short, it will be a weekend for Patrick.

The hike itself will be divided into those who are attempting all three peaks; Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. Some who are climbing two of them and others doing just one. So all in all, it should be a day of great variety and all abilities in honour of Patrick’s memory. The hike will start at Pen y Ghent at 7am.
