Eaves Green Community Farm launched in November 2025 shortly before its founders, Elizabeth and Neil Webley, moved into their new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Eaves Green development. Since establishing the farm, more than 150 trees have been planted, with 11 members now involved in the growth and upkeep of the area. The Farm has established vegetable growing areas, an orchard, wildflower meadows and wildlife areas with raised beds, compost bins and sheds, ready for various planting opportunities. The volunteers have also recently adopted ex-battery hens and hope to extend this to goats in the future. The team also hosts weekly open afternoons where interested members of the community can come along to the farm and get involved. This non-profit organisation is described as a welcoming environment for everyone to showcase organic and sustainable ways of growing and encourage people to be more self-sufficient. Eaves Green Community Farm has huge hopes for the future, in which the most immediate plans are to add a living willow fence, a path through the orchard and benches in the wildflower meadow patches.

Taylor Wimpey Manchester’s £300 donation will contribute to essential equipment and materials to create woodchip pathways through the orchard and vegetable beds. This follows Taylor Wimpey’s previous donations of excess materials, including pallets, metal grid fencing and timber, which were used to build a fence and fox-proof the chicken run.

Elizabeth Webley, Founder of Eaves Green Community Farm, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their support with the Eaves Green Community Farm. We have so many ideas of how we can grow the farm and dedicate areas to all the beautiful parts of nature. Creating woodchip paths is just one of the first steps in making our farm an attractive, open place for the community to visit and enjoy. We can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for their kind donation.”

Rachel Barber, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: “Supporting local communities is a key part of what we do, and we were so excited to be able to help the Community Farm right on the doorstep of our Eaves Green development. This is a brilliant initiative that encourages people to learn how to live sustainably while also enjoying spending time outdoors. We look forward to seeing how Eaves Green Community Farm grows in the future.”
