South Ribble move marks a new chapter for soon-to-be-newlyweds
THE future is looking bright for new Leyland residents who are celebrating after purchasing their ‘forever home’ and setting a date to tie the knot.
Following a challenging time of illness and recovery, Jonathan Fitton, 52 and Lori Brindle, 60, have finally found their happy ending, making a move from Gillibrand North to Redrow’s Worden Gardens development in Leyland.

“We were renting a two-bedroom property when we decided we wanted to purchase a house together; our forever home that belonged to us,” said Jon, a telephone engineer.
“We’ve had a tough time, but Lori is now in full recovery from cancer, we have our wedding set for next summer and we have moved in our new home – this is our happy ending.”

The couple’s house-hunting journey got off to a rocky start when their first purchase fell through, leaving Lori ready to give up.
“Lori was ready to throw the towel in so, to take a break from house viewings, we set off on a day out to Formby Beach,” said Jon.
“On the way to the beach we drove past a Redrow development in Burscough called The Grange at Yew Tree Park and decided to stop and take a look - the properties were perfect.
“After talking to the team at Burscough, they informed us that Redrow had another development nearer to where we were house hunting. So, I turned the car around and we headed to Worden Gardens. We met the team and within a week we had put down our deposit.”

Worden Gardens is home to a selection of two, four and five-bedroom properties all hailing from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection.
The development is set amid open countryside, so residents are able to enjoy the best of both worlds with easy access to nearby towns and cities plus Worden Park right on the doorstep.
“Worden Gardens is an ideal location, on the edge of the countryside and town and also not too far away from Chorley where we have family and friends,” said Jon.
“Lori works as a nurse at MAC Medical Research in Prescot, Liverpool, which was another consideration for the house location. It has excellent transport options with easy access to the motorway network.”

After viewing The Marlow show home at the development, Jon and Lori knew they had found their ‘forever home’.
The Marlow boasts an open plan kitchen/dining area, with a separate lounge, utility and cloakroom. The first floor comprises four double bedrooms, an en-suite to the main bedroom and a family bathroom.
“It has the perfect size and proportions. We immediately knew this was "the one". The kitchen is our favourite place in the house. It is large, spacious and well laid out,” said Jon.
“It is a great room for entertaining, with patio doors out into the back garden. We do love every aspect of the house, every room is particularly comfortable and well proportioned; the house layout is excellent.
“We wanted to purchase a new build home to be able to put our own mark on the property, to have no major maintenance works and our energy bills seem to be reduced, despite this house being considerably larger. We also found out the cost of a new build was not dissimilar to second-hand property prices.”
A range of two to five-bedroom homes are available at Worden Gardens. Prices start from £220,000 to £550,000. To find out more call the team on 01257 581698 or visit www.redrow.co.uk/new-homes/devr162664-worden-gardens,-leyland/
