Sherwood Lodge’s summer fair brings the local community together
Staff, residents, relatives and the local community came together at Sherwood Lodge to enjoy a summer fair that was held in the home’s grounds in August
Sherwood Lodge hosted a variety of activities throughout the day, including craft stalls, a cake sale, a tombola, raffle, and games, with 1950s rock and roll live music by MiniConcerts which were enjoyed by everyone who came to the event.

Staff at Sherwood Lodge made everyone feel welcome and were delighted to see different generations having fun together. Visitors enjoyed plenty of refreshments, such as sandwiches, cakes, savoury bites such as pork pies and sausage rolls and more! The delicious refrehements were prepared by the catering team, who were hard at work making sure that a great time was had by all – it really was a team effort!

Resident, Ann, said: “I thoroughly enjoyed it. The turn out was incredible, such a great group of people showed up, and the food was just lovely! We were lucky the weather held out until we finished too. The staff did a great job at organising the event and getting everyone together, and it was so well decorated too. It truly was a great day.”
Karen Lawrenson, Deputy Manager at the home, said: “It was a wonderful day! It was a pleasure to welcome everyone into the home, and seeing so many old and new faces come together! Everyone had such a good day and the fair was a wonderful success in promoting a strong sense of community engagement between our home and local businesses and communities. It was lovely to unite generations for an afternoon of fun and entertainment. Our residents had a brilliant day!”
