Rising musician to release new single inspired by Lancaster
Lancaster-based country artist Susannah Clegg will release Prospect Street, the first single from her debut album, on 17th July.

Backed by Charlie Wells on double bass, Damon Kilcawley on fiddle, and Laurence Kingston on electric guitar, Prospect Street is a story of love and luck lost, delivered by Susannah’s distinct country vocals. The single is named after a road in Lancaster and is her first full band release, marking a new stage in her career. It was recorded by Josh Clark at Get Real Audio. Influences include Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and contemporary artists such as Sierra Ferrell, Luke Bell, and Brennen Leigh, reflecting a dedication to traditional country songwriting.
Susannah explains that discovering a road called Prospect Street in Lancaster inspired the metaphor of lost hope. The song explores a relationship’s end, using the idea of losing a “claim” to love, with Prospect Street as the backdrop for a country heartbreak narrative.

Since releasing her debut EP in February 2025, Susannah Clegg has become a notable presence in UK country and Americana music. She supported John R. Miller during two of his UK tour dates in early 2026 and is scheduled to appear at several UK country and Americana festivals this summer. She will also tour the UK with her band in October.
Prospect Street will be available on all major streaming platforms from 17th July 2026. Susannah's debut album, Good Times Are Coming Our Way, is set for release later this year.
