Elixier Diagnostics, based at Fairways Office Park, offers services including private GP consultations, preventive health assessments, X-ray, ultrasound, DEXA bone-density scanning, dental CBCT, echocardiography, ECG and blood testing.

Patients can access a range of clinical assessments and diagnostic investigations locally, subject to appropriate clinical assessment, referral and service-specific requirements.

By bringing several healthcare and diagnostic services together in one location, Elixier aims to make the patient journey more convenient and connected, reducing the need to attend multiple locations for different elements of private care.

The centre is intended to complement rather than replace existing NHS and independent healthcare services, providing an additional option for people choosing private self-pay care. Patients wishing to use private medical insurance should check their individual cover and eligibility with their insurer.

Elixier Diagnostics also aims to develop relationships with GPs, consultants, dentists, allied healthcare professionals and other healthcare organisations.

The team is also keen to explore partnerships with universities, research institutions, businesses and community organisations across Lancashire. Any future research activity would be developed subject to the appropriate governance, regulatory and ethical approvals.

The centre recently held an invitation-only soft opening attended by the Mayor of Preston, Councillor Nweeda Khan, alongside local GPs, healthcare professionals and representatives from the University of Lancashire, North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, community organisations and local businesses.

Guests toured the facilities and heard about Elixier's plans to develop preventive healthcare and private diagnostic services for the local community.

A spokesperson said: "  Elixier Diagnostics to be a place where people can take a more proactive approach to their health, access appropriate clinical and diagnostic services and better understand the information they receive. They  also want to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and local organisations to contribute positively to healthcare provision within the community.”
