New darts programme opens in Preston in hope of finding next Luke Littler
Calling all darts enthusiasts..
Ex-professional darts player Dave ‘Stretch’ Evans is launching a new darts programme at the Darts Team Centre at Preston Grasshoppers RFC. He is is collaborating with the local darts store and community hub to bring academy-style coaching to adults.
Junior darts academies are popping up all over the country, all hoping to create the next Luke Littler. But what about adults who are hoping to improve?
For them, there’s very little on offer… but that’s about to change. Darts Team, Lancashire’s premier darts supplier, opened its doors in October last year, and has since founded a successful youth academy.
Owner, Steven, has received many questions from amateurs players above the age of 18, wondering how they can get better.
The solution comes in the form of an eight week programme to be run by ex-pro Dave
Dave has years of darts experience, including playing o on stage at the World Championships. The goal is to provide gradual development and progression to members throughout the programme in a safe and supportive environment.
Through the programme, players can expect to improve the following:
- Technical Throw Analysis & Development
- Achieving Consistency
- Board Management
- Approach & Mindset
- Practice Routines
Darts Team Adult Darts Academy will launch on Tuesday October 27, with two sessions in the evening. The first will run from 6-7.15pm, and will be aimed at those with a sub-50 average and beginners. The latter session will run from 7.15 to 8.30pm and will be for those with a 50+ average.
The cost for the full 8 week programme will be £100, which includes all 8 sessions, lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes each. Sessions will be capped at 12 players per session to allow each member to get an optimal amount of support and practice.
The academy is open to anyone who wishes to come, and is invited to a meet the coach session on Tuesday 20th October. This is a drop-in session where you can meet Dave and understand in more detail what to expect from the Academy. Anyone interested will be invited to sign up on the day, with sessions commencing the following week.
If you are interested, head over to Darts Team for the taster session on Tuesday 20th October – no booking is required.
