Local choir hits high note with residents at Astley View Care Home
Residents at Astley View Care Home in Chorley enjoyed a lively afternoon of music when Local Vocals visited the home to perform.
Led by Laura, the choir brought real energy from the start, with residents singing along and getting involved throughout.

The atmosphere across the home was fantastic, with many residents saying how much they enjoyed the performance and some even talking about joining a choir themselves.
Music and singing can have a positive impact in later life, particularly for people living with dementia. Music can support memory, reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing, while group singing helps people feel connected and involved.
Christina Durnan, Registered Manager at Astley View Care Home, said: “It was a really special afternoon. The energy the choir brought into the home was brilliant people were singing along, smiling and completely engaged.
You could see how much it meant to everyone. It brought people together and helped everyone feel part of it, which is so important.”
