Leyland school donates to local foodbank in display of Christmas spirit
A Leyland school has donated over £100 worth of food to a local foodbank - including a huge 3 kilo can of baked beans - in a display of the giving spirit of Christmas.
Students at Wellfield Academy, part of the Endeavour Learning Trust, have been gathering food to donate since last month.

Students, led by English teacher Mr Harrison, handed over their donations to Leyland Foodbank this week.
The donation included a tin of baked beans weighing over 3.12 kilos - pictured below.
Students from Year 7 through to Year 11 contributed to the donation in an effort to show how small acts of kindness can have a positive impact on people in their local community.
Celia Neill at Leyland Foodbank thanked students for the donation. She commented:
"Thank you to all the pupils and staff at Wellfield - this will make a huge difference to so many people".
Mr Harrison commented, saying he looks forward to collecting again for this fantastic cause -
"We had even more donations than last year; a huge thank you to everyone who donated.
“When we come together as a school community, we really can make a difference.
“Whenever the Foodbank needs our help, it is amazing to know that Wellfield students will be on hand to support the Leyland community.”
