Lawyer at Lancashire law firm recognised in global list of leading intellectual property professionals
A lawyer who specialises in helping businesses protect their intellectual property has been named in a global list of her field’s most influential people.
Asima Rana, a partner at Lancashire law firm Harrison Drury, has been named among WIPR's Influential Women in IP, a global listing celebrating private practice and corporate legal leaders behind high-profile litigation wins and deals.

Selected through rigorous assessment, Asima was recognised for her extensive experience across contentious and non-contentious IP matters including trademark disputes, advertising claims, brand enforcement strategies and regulatory issues.
Asima specialises in high-profile litigation and brand protection and joined Harrison Drury's Manchester office earlier this year.
In one of her most notable cases, Asima led the legal team representing Dairy UK in its successful Supreme Court case against Oatly, which confirmed that the trademark 'Post Milk Generation' could not be used on oat-based food and drink products because 'milk' is a protected designation under EU law.
Commenting on the recognition, Asima said: "I'm delighted to be recognised by WIPR and to be included alongside such talented women from across the global IP community".
Asima added: "It's a real privilege to do work that I genuinely enjoy, helping clients protect their brands, ideas and innovations through complex legal challenges".
She continued: "I look forward to continuing to strengthen our IP practice and helping our clients safeguard the ideas, brands and technologies that matter most to them".
The WIPR Influential Women in IP annual listing spotlights women from private practice, in-house, academia and public institutions who are driving innovation, influencing policy and protecting intellectual property rights.
