Head Chef recognised for his contribution at Chorley care home
A Head Chef at a Chorley care home has been recognised with a company-wide award after making a significant contribution since joining the team earlier this year.
Rowan Simmons, Head Chef at Astley View Care Home, part of Evermore Care Homes, has received the organisation's Step Up, Stand Out award in recognition of the leadership, flexibility and commitment he has shown since joining the home in March.

The award celebrates colleagues who consistently go above and beyond in their role and make a positive difference to residents and their colleagues.
Since joining Astley View, Rowan has led the day-to-day running of the kitchen while supporting recruitment and helping to build a strong team. His willingness to step in wherever support is needed, combined with his practical approach and commitment to colleagues and residents, has earned him recognition across the home.
Food plays an important role in daily life at Astley View. Rowan and his team prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals that are tailored to each resident's individual needs, including modified texture diets for people who require additional support with eating and drinking. They also make the dining experience something to look forward to by celebrating seasonal occasions and favourite traditions. This summer, residents have enjoyed strawberries and cream during Wimbledon, while homemade mocktails have been added to the menu to encourage hydration during the warmer weather.
Christina Durnan, Home Manager at Astley View Care Home, said: "Rowan has become an important part of the Astley View team in a very short space of time. He leads by example, supports his colleagues and brings real commitment to everything he does. The kitchen is at the heart of daily life in our home, and Rowan understands that every meal is an opportunity to support residents' health, wellbeing and enjoyment. This award reflects everything he has contributed since joining us, and it is thoroughly deserved."
As part of the award, Rowan has received a weekend break for two in recognition of his achievement.
