Family business brings life to Leyland building.
From office desks to dance floors: Leyland building gets new lease of life thanks to Aim2b School of Dance. An award-winning dance school is giving a new lease of life to former office buildings in Leyland, with a purpose-built three studio space opening next month.
Aim2b School of Dance will start running from Trafford Building, East Street, from Monday 13 April, offering a wide range of classes for all ages.
The renovation is the brainchild of Aim2b owners and childhood sweethearts Amy Brown and Peter Szwandt, who have been looking for the “perfect permanent premises” having previously rented in both Leyland and Lostock Hall.
This is a huge year for the couple, who are not only celebrating the dance school’s 10 year anniversary, but who are also due to tie the knot towards the end of the year!
The couple, who are both specialists in Special Educational Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and trauma informed practice, are now excited for the next chapter of their business – with an established home and plans for expansion.
Mum-of-two Amy, 32, said: “We are so pleased to have found the perfect home for our students and families, after searching for a very long time! We have huge plans and we cannot wait to bring them to life!”
“Aim2b has always been about more than dance, it’s about creating a space where people feel safe, supported and understood. With Peter’s background in behaviour and pastoral care and leadership, we’re now able to offer something even deeper, combining creativity with real, meaningful support for young people.”
Aim2b currently offers classes in cheer, commercial, hip hop, SEN, fitness and acro and in the new space will be expanding the timetable with baby and toddler classes, wellbeing and mental health sessions, community and home education classes, wedding dance sessions and ballroom and latin classes… AND MORE.
The school has proudly participated in Leyland Festival since its inception, with a hat trick of wins, and will continue to be a key part of the Leyland community. Students also get the opportunity to compete at venues including Blackpool Tower Ballroom. The new space will be available to hire for freelance instructors, events and birthday parties.
A free trial is available for anybody wanting to come along and try a new class. The full timetable can be viewed on Aim2b’s social media channels.
