Six shortlisted groups will be invited to talk about their community project and win votes at the event, held at St Mary’s Community Centre, in Leyland. They can also enjoy home-made soup and crumble and meet other like-minded community groups.

The winning project will receive up to £1,000 from the Group’s Community Investment Fund. The five other projects will receive up to £200.

Previous winners Chorley’s Angels Community First Aid Community Group used the £1,000 award from the event to purchase life-saving equipment.

David Forrest from Chorley’s Angels said: “We have previously entered the Soup Dragon’s Den event which was absolutely brilliant. We enjoyed it so much, we entered twice and won both times.

“We enjoyed free soup, free dessert, and a chance to network with other people.”

To apply, applicants need to fill in an application form found via the Progress Housing Group website (www.progressgroup.org.uk) and send it to [email protected] or post it to Sumner House, 21 King Street, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 2LW. Deadline for applications is Sunday May 3 2026.

Community groups applying will need to meet certain criteria. This is open to any tenants or support workers who have a project in their communities, as well as non-tenant community groups and individuals.
