Chorley’s High Five charity celebrates ‘invaluable’ support from Morrisons Foundation
Hive Five, a charity that provides vital support and activities to families with children affected by severe disabilities in Chorley were delighted to receive a donation of £5,705 from the Morrisons Foundation.
The funding from the charitable arm of the supermarket has covered the costs of delivering activities for children with disabilities as well as new items for High Five’s innovative 'sharing shelf, which loans out high cost items to families in need. Visiting the Morrisons store in Chorley, a parent that benefits from High Five’s support said: “High Five has been such an important part of our lives and has supported our family in so many ways over the years. “The activities give our children opportunities to have fun, build confidence, make friendships and feel included in a safe and understanding environment. “As parents, it’s also been invaluable to connect with other families who truly understand and support one another. High Five has become like a family away from family for us.” Hannah Bullen, Morrisons Community Champion presented the donation to the charity at the supermarket in Chorley. Hannah said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to meet so many lovely children and their families whilst presenting the donation. “Hive Five is such a wonderful cause in our local community and seeing first hand the difference the charity makes to children and their families is truly heart warming. I’m very proud that through the Morrisons Foundation we’ve been able to make such a difference.” The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives.
