Books donated to Eccleston schools by local homebuilder
REDROW has donated book bundles to primary schools in Eccleston, including a selection that support pupils with positive mental health and wellbeing.
The books were split between three primary schools - Eccleston Primary School, Eccleston St. Mary’s CE Primary School and Euxton Church of England Primary School.
The bundles, worth £500, were donated via Christina Taylor, an independent Usborne partner. The titles donated -a mixture of fiction and non-fiction – were selected to support students’ mental health, ignite imaginations and to promote reading for pleasure to further develop children’s literacy skills.
“I recently had the pleasure of working alongside Redrow to donate award-winning children’s books to three primary schools,” said Christina, from Christina Taylor Books, in partnership with Usborne.
“Redrow donated £500, which was shared between the schools, followed by a 10% donation from myself in free books. Thank you to the team at Redrow for funding this distribution, which will bring great enjoyment to the primary schools involved.”
Steve Jackson, regional sales director at Redrow, added: “We would like to thank Christina for her support in helping to distribute these books to children across the community. Working with local partners is vital in ensuring resources like these reach the families and young people who can benefit most. We hope the books are both enjoyed and useful, helping to encourage positive conversations around mental health and wellbeing.”
Redrow is currently building homes at Woodland Chase, located off Doctors Lane opposite Eccleston Cricket Club. Once complete, the development will consist of 65 homes from the homebuilder’s sought after Heritage Collection.
Woodland Chase offers residents the ‘best of both worlds’ with local amenities in the village of Eccleston and nearby towns of Chorley and Leyland as well as access to local green spaces and the surrounding countryside on the doorstep.
