37 creatives come together to celebrate Blackpool in new community anthology

Seaside Shuffle: A Blackpool Anthology of poetry, tales and memories is the result of months of collaboration between 37 writers, poets and creatives, who have worked together to create a collection inspired by the people, places and memories that make Blackpool unique.

The anthology features poetry, short stories and personal reflections, offering readers a rich and diverse portrait of the town through the eyes of those who know it best.

The project has brought together contributors of different ages, backgrounds and writing styles, united by a shared connection to Blackpool and the surrounding area.

The organisers say they were overwhelmed by the response to the project, which exceeded all expectations. They emphasise that every contributor has brought something unique, creating not only a book but also a lasting celebration of Blackpool, its history, its people and its strong sense of community.

The book is already available to pre-order, with its official publication date set for August 1 2026.

Before the official publication, everyone involved in the project, along with those who have supported it or simply feel a connection to it, is warmly invited to a special Book Launch and Community Evening.

The event will take place on Monday,July 27 2026 at 6:30pm at Tea Amantes – Tearoom & Gallery, 53b Albert Road, Blackpool.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of the contributors, learn more about how the anthology came together and celebrate the publication of a book that demonstrates what can be achieved when creativity brings people together.

More than just an anthology, Seaside Shuffle is a celebration of local identity, collaboration and community, showing that every person has a story worth telling and that, together, those stories create something truly special.
