As well as having a look around the cars lined up on the green in front of the historic tower visitors also had the chance to tour the Grade I listed building.

Over the centuries many royal guests have been welcomed and entertained at Hoghton Tower including James I, William III, George V & Queen Mary, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Other distinguished visitors include (allegedly) William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens.
