Classic cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks and ex-military vehicles all shone in the sun at the event on Sunday.

There was plenty to keep the whole family at full throttle with trade stands, food stalls and an auto jumble for avid aficionados.

Car owners enjoyed showing off their vehicles, allowing photo snaps and chatting with fellow enthusiasts.

As well as having a look around the cars lined up on the green in front of the historic tower visitors also had the chance to tour the Grade I listed building.

Over the centuries many royal guests have been welcomed and entertained at Hoghton Tower including James I, William III, George V & Queen Mary, and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Other distinguished visitors include (allegedly) William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens.
