The Bay: These were the scenes in Morecambe today during filming for the ITV drama

Camera crews were up on Heysham Barrows on Monday and in Morecambe town centre on Tuesday as filming continued for the third series of The Bay.

They were previously filming in Heysham village last month, and today they are in central Morecambe - where part of the prom has been closed to traffic for the TV work to take place.

As we reported in February, The Bay series 3 will see Cobra star Marsha Thomason in the lead role
They were previously filming in Heysham village last month, and today they are in central Morecambe - where part of the prom has been closed to traffic for the TV work to take place.
She will join the regular cast as Morecambe CID’s new Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend, following Morven Christie’s decision to leave the show.
DS Townsend is immediately thrown into the deep end when a body is found in the bay on her first day in the job.
She must get under the skin of a grieving and complicated family if she has any chance of solving the premature death of an aspiring young boxer.

The hugely successful drama is written by Lancaster-based award-winning writer and playwright Daragh Carville
Rightmove, which released the figures, suggested viewers of ITV police drama The Bay have been browsing to see what was for sale in the town where the show is set and filmed.
Searches for homes to buy in Morecambe have surged by 71 per cent in the space of a week, according to a property website.
Searches for properties listed for sale in the seaside town jumped by 71 per cent between January 18 and 24, compared with the seven days before.
Searches for homes to rent in Morecambe were also up 22 per cent over the same period.
Rightmove said Morecambe recorded a bigger seven-day increase in searches than anywhere else in Britain.
The first series of The Bay received an average of 7.2 million views across the six episodes
A second series of six episodes was confirmed on 4 May 2019 and it was originally planned for it to be broadcast mid-2020
But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to early 2021 when in January of that year all six episodes were immediately made available on the ITV Hub receiving an average of 7.9 million views
On 15 February 2021, Marsha Thomason was cast as the new lead, DS Jenn Townsend
Morven Christie decided to leave the show following production on the second series.
