Each month until the end of the year, Lancashire Archives is opening its doors for a day of family history activities.

There will be free advice and help with your family history problems from members of the Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society, Getting To Know sessions, a family history surgery and archivists on hand to help in the Searchroom. Open next Friday, 10am-5pm, this month’s talk is ‘Historic photography’ by Zoe Kennington, which takes place at 12.30pm. Create Longridge In Words, Saturday, July 14

Calling all writers!

Next Saturday you can join in the inaugural ‘Create Longridge in Words’ event.

A live writing event for adults and children, entry forms will be available from 9am in Longridge Library. You can write anywhere in Longridge – there are plenty of cafés and parks in the town – so long as you submit your completed form and your work by 1pm for the readings from 2pm.
