12 colourful pictures from St Catherine’s Hospice Yellow Day summer fete as crowds enjoy family fun

Yellow Day at St Catherine’s Park coincides with the Hospice’s Yellow Ribbon campaign.

Grey skies couldn’t dim the shine as St Catherine’s Hospice hosted its annual Yellow Day summer fete on Sunday (June 7).

The jam-packed, family-friendly event had everything from a classic car show, a famous duck race and a funfair to samba drumming, circus performances, street food and an artisan market.

Speaking at the event, Community and Events Fundraising lead Nikee Rolfe said: “The whole purpose of Yellow Day is really to bring a little bit of joy and a little bit of connection between the public and St Catherine’s Hospice. It’s part of our Yellow Ribbon campaign.

“If you come and see us, you’ll see yellow ribbons flying all over our grounds and every single yellow ribbon has the name of a loved one who’s been loved and lost.

“Whether you’ve lost someone at St Catherine’s Hospice or you’ve just lost somebody out in the world, you can always dedicate a yellow ribbon to them.”

These were the scenes from the weekend’s event.
