Popular beer festival announces new dates

Raise a glass - a popular beer festival is coming back to a Preston pub.

The Continental on South Meadow Lane has announced its next beer event will take place from Thursday May 11 to Sunday May 14.

The festival is now in its seventeenth year and has become such a draw that the pub is selling advance tickets online already.

Preston-based website Skiddle.com is offering early bird tickets for Thursday, Friday and Saturday for £3 plus booking fees.

There is also an early bird ticket which covers the whole weekend, priced at £7. Sunday will have free entry.

The big attraction will be more than 200 ales, ciders, craft beers, perrys and specialist kegs. The event will include a barbecue with the Smokehouse Chefs from The Ferret cooking up vegan treats as well as a meat feast.

There will also be live music in a garden marquee.
