Take a look at 17 wonderful photos from a vinatge fair held at Lancashire’s first open air museum.

A site on the outskirts of Preston, currently under development to become the North West’s only rural living museum, held its first community event of the year over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Becconsall Heritage Park, which opened in 2025, hosted a Steam & Vintage Fair on Sunday, May 3 and Monday, May 4 featuring old tractors, vintage vehicles, craft stalls and children’s enetrainment.

Funds from the two day event are going towards the development of the 20 acre former brickworks site in Hesketh Bank into use as an open-air, living museum, which you can read more about here.

A spokesperson for Becconsall Heritage Park told us: “Our Steam and Vintage Fair has been our largest event to date. We had record attendance, over one thousand visitors, and superb support from local businesses, Huntapac, Johnson's of Banks, AP & SA Clowell of Grimsargh, Arden Lea Nurseries, Hesketh Bank Community Centre and a local Scout Group.

“Without our dedicated volunteers, it would have been impossible to host this two day event.

“We are looking forward to our next events coming up and out Country Fair in September.”

Our photographer headed down on the second day of the festival to capture the scenes, take a look at a selection of their best photos next...
