Looking to do something unique this Halloween? Well this women’s retreat at Pendle Hill could do the trick (or treat...)
A three-day retreat exploring women’s spirituality, folklore and personal development will take place at Pendle Hill in Lancashire this Halloween weekend.
Running between Friday, October 30 and Sunday , November 1, The Waking the Witch retreat will be based at the Assheton Arms, a historic country inn in the village of Downham.
As well as being Halloween, the programme coincides with Samhain, an ancient Celtic seasonal festival associated with the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter.

The retreat - which you can still book on to- will be led by Rosannah Jones, a menstrual cycle coach and educator, and Lizzie Minchener, a psychic channel and energy healer.
Participants will get to explore the area’s cultural and historical connections with witchcraft, including the 1612 Pendle witch trials.
The programme includes guided walks along the Pendle Sculpture Trail, meditation, women’s discussion circles, tarot readings, a Samhain fire ceremony, herbal craft workshops and the creation of personal journals documenting their experiences.
Guest facilitator Georgia Groundland, an artist and yoga teacher, will also lead sessions combining yin yoga, sound healing and spoken word.
Organisers say the retreat is intended to help women develop confidence, trust their intuition and explore their relationship with spirituality, nature and ancestral heritage.
It will also examine the historical persecution of women accused of witchcraft and its continuing cultural significance.
Accommodation, meals, drinks and refreshments are included in the retreat package.
Optional massage treatments will also be available.
as we celebrate 140 years of the Lancashire Post, we have launched a new You Tube series Drone Lancashire showcasing the county as the crow flies. Watch and subscribe here.
Organisers warn that only two rooms remain available in a private cottage, with options for shared or sole occupancy.
You can however book a no-accomodation open for £355 as well.
