Lancashire's newest go karting facility is now on track after opening its doors to the public.

TeamSport, the UK’s largest indoor karting firm, has created the new £1.5m state of the art karting centre in a unit at Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge.

WATCH: State-of-the-art go-karting track set to open in Bamber BridgeThe centre, complete with flyover and electronic timing, has been designed to cater for all age groups from eight plus.

It boasts two professionally designed multi-level 400m circuits over three floors.

The company says its “all thrills” track will offer “incredible straights speed-lovers will crave and hair-raising bends that will test the nerve of even the best karters.”

The official opening was on Saturday and general manager Chris Stapleton is pictured outside the centre.

Some 40 new jobs are being created providing a boost to local employment opportunities.

A new Cadet Academy will offer tuition for youngsters aged eight to 16 years to help them develop racing skills.

The facility is also available for corporate events and hen and stag parties and for family groups.

Prior to the opening Dominic Gaynor, managing director of TeamSport Karting, said: “It’s a great location and is easy to access from both the city and surrounding motorways.”

He added: “We’ve a range of race events that caters for everyone, so whether you’re a karting newbie or promising F1 superstar there’s a race format perfect for you.”

The centre’s two tracks can be joined to make one super track.

The centre also has a spectators’ area plus refreshment facilities.
