Together The Lions
International has raised the of equivalent of almost £300m for the blind since 1990 and a further four million for
victims of the Haiti
earthquake. Locally the club sets out to save the lives of its own community and launched the ‘Message in a Bottle’ scheme, a simple idea that could save the lives of many.

The scheme encourages
people to keep their basic
personal and medical details on a form and put them inside a bottle kept in one of the most common house hold areas – the fridge!

Emergency services have been informed about the scheme which could save valuable time when entering a property under emergency circumstances. Emergency teams will know exactly where to go and what to look for.

Although it is focused on the more vulnerable members of the community, the scheme can benefit everyone. It helps identify who you are and if you have any special medication or allergies.

The special bottles can be collected from your local GP, pharmacy or from the

The Lions fund the scheme so the
