Rock the Lakes Festival hits Longridge

Longridge will this weekend play host to its first three-day Rock festival.

Around 1,200 festival goers are expected to descend on the Longridge show ground for the annual Rock the Lakes event, previously held in Southport.

The live music festival, now in its sixth year will feature around 15 tribute and local rock acts and will kick off on Friday August 19

Among the bands set to take to the stage are The Rockits, The AC/DC Experience, QueenEsque and State of Quo. The event will be compered by Garry Rokjok Lewis from Hells Bells Rock Disco

Organiser Mike Blundell said: “It’s all gone really well - its’ a fun-filled family festival and we have babies right up to 90-year-olds coming along and everyone really enjoys it

“Longridge is very community based and it is a good fit - it is probably one of the biggest music events to hit the town in 20 years.”

Tickets will be available on the gate £17 for Friday and Sunday and £22 for Saturday, camp pitch £50
