Secretary Janet Taylor said: “It was amazing - hearing them read out the results was very nerve wracking - they read out the top six and when it got to top three we all thought it wasn’t to be so when they read out our name the whole band went wild.

“Ahead of the competition we were eat, sleeping and breathing the piece so there was quite a celebration in the pub later on!”

The self-funded band are now firmly in planning and fundraising mode ahead of the finals in Cheltenham this September.

Janet added: “It is an expensive hobby - all the members are trying to help raise the money for the uniforms, travel, maintenance of instruments.

“We have a couple of ideas in the planning stages .”
