The Lancashire singer and The Voice champion will join Fylde actress and former Emmerdale star Kelsey Beth Crossley, who will play Princess Jasmine.

The Covid secure show is a magical re imagining of the classic children’s story and will enjoy a four week run at The Globe opening on November 21. Amanda Thompson OBE, managing director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, said: “I’ve always loved the festive nature of pantomime, and our version of Aladdin is set to be a real winner.

“I can think of no one better to play our lead than Kevin. Having known him for over 20 years, it is brilliant to have him back performing at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.”

Discussing the investment in additional safety measures to allow shows to run Thompson, added: “We are delighted to be delivering shows in a COVID secure way.

“We are following the latest government advice and working hard to do everything we can to keep our visitors, staff, and performers safe. At The Globe, we’re good to go.”

Speaking on his return to the Pleasure Beach Kevin said: “Not many people will be aware of my long history with the Pleasure Beach, but I actually begun my career as a professional performer here.

“It was through the support of the park and Amanda Thompson that I took the decision to audition for talent show Popstars, which ultimately led to the creation of Liberty X. I’m so happy to be back performing where it all started.”

Running on selected dates from November 21 to December 24, Aladdin promises to be fun for the whole family.

Tickets are now available for £8.

The Pleasure Beach has introduced a variety of new policies and procedures to ensure that all performances are in line with the latest government guidance.

Aladdin: The Pantomime will be following the latest tiered restrictions announced on October 16, including the introduction of a one-way system, and limiting audience capacity to allow for social distancing.
