Steve said: “We’re very excited - and slightly nervous - about being the first married couple on Rock FM. If we can achieve a fraction of the success of couples like Richard and Judy or Eamonn and Ruth we’ll be chuffed.

“We will argue, as like most couples we do it all the time anyway, so we thought why not get paid for it.

“Janine tells me she’s the boss, but I let her think that, so in a weird way maybe it’s me.

“We’re over the moon at spending every waking moment in each other’s company, really pleased, can’t wait to hear nothing but each other’s voices morning till night.

“But seriously it’s a huge challenge and I’m sure there will be tears along the way but lots of fun too. We can’t wait to wait to get chatting with the listeners.”

Fiona Sadler joins the Rock FM team full time from 10am until 2pm, as the new host of the morning show.

She is no stranger to Rock FM or Bauer and regularly presents on Key 103 and Radio City. She replaces Stu Tolan who is preparing for a new show in Dubai.

Owen Ryan, group content director Bauer City Network, said: “Steve and Janine will bring all the drama and fun of married life to the new breakfast show and Fiona and Ditchy complete a new-look line-up that promises to keep Rock FM listeners thoroughly entertained through the work day.

“Of course, we also want to thank Stu and Jordan for their commitment and hard work as part of the Rock FM team and wish them the very best for the future.”

Jordan, 26, said: “After achieving one of my childhood goals to present on Rock FM, the station I grew up listening to, I have decided it’s time for a change. It’s been great fun, however new challenges lie ahead. I’d like to thank all the staff at Rock FM and to everyone who’s listened and taken part in the show - you’ve all made it very special.
