From midday the heart of Leyland buzzed with activity: Christmas market stalls, street food, children’s attractions and fairground rides welcomed families and friends, while live music and entertainment on stage - from local artists to headliners - kept spirits high.
As afternoon turned to evening, locals and visitors gathered eagerly for the highlight of the day: the lights being switched on.
The glow of the new festive lights lit up Hough Lane and surrounding streets, bringing a warm glow to the winter evening.
The event, organised by South Ribble Borough Council in partnership with Leyland Town Team, was free to attend and featured free parking at several nearby car parks - making it an easy, family‑friendly way to start the festive season.
