5. Glasson
Was once the largest port in the county, but is now a quieter little village and harbour. Home to a famous smokehouse.
6. Lathom
Lovely canalside village which was recorded as Latune in the Domesday Book in 1086.
7. Mawdesley
Pretty village surrounded by farmland and home to Cedar House Farm Galleries, also home to two churches and a pub.
8. Heskin
Lovely village, home to Heskin Hall, now shopping centre, which dates back to 1548.
