Major road reopens after earlier incident
Police have thanked the public after dealing with an incident on a mayor road.
Earlier today, August 30, the M61 was closed in both directions between junctions 6 - 8.
Closures were necessary as officers from Lancashire Police dealt with a concern for welfare.
It reopened that afternoon.
