
The midfielder has been out of favour for the majority of his time at Deepdale and has not played competitively for the Lilywhites since coming on as a second-half sub in the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in December 2016.
His move to League Two takes him to the end of the three-year contract he signed when arriving from Fulham in the summer of 2016.
The signing was seen as something of a coup but aside from a run of five straight starts in October and November 2016, the 29-year-old has been something of a forgotten man during his time in Lancashire.
In total he has made just 14 appearances for PNE, four of those coming in the League Cup.
