Ipswich: Bialkowski, Ward, Chalobah, Chambers, Pennington, Knudsen, Downes, Skuse, Dozzell, Jackson, Sears

PNE: Maxwell, Clarke, Huntington, Storey, Hughes, Pearson, Johnson, Barkhuizen, Browne, Robinson, Nmecha

Key Men

Ben Pearson: This could be a real battle for PNE with the league's bottom side having a new manager in place. Pearson will be tasked with working hard both defensively in the middle of the park and getting on the ball to control things for the visitors

Gwion Edwards: With three goals to his name and a Wales call-up it's not been a bad start at Portman Road for the former Peterborough man despite the struggles of the team as a whole.

Paul Lambert: This will be a first game in charge of Ipswich for the 49-year-old. Lambert was appointed manager last Saturday but restricted himself to a watching brief for the 3-0 defeat at Millwall. This is the Scotsman’s ninth job in management. He started at Livingston, before moving to Wycombe. Lambert has since managed Colchester, Norwich, Aston Villa, Blackburn, Wolves and Stoke. It was with Norwich where Lambert had his most successful time, guiding them to back-to-back promotions.

Referee

Andy Woolmer: The Northamptonshire official is in charge of Preston’s visit to Ipswich. It is a while since he was in the middle for a PNE game, that being against Sheffield Wednesday on New Year’s Eve 2016. That season Mr Woolmer refereed four North End games, the others being a 1-0 League Cup win over Hartlepool, a 2-2 draw at Birmingham and a 3-1 win over Rotherham. Saturday’s game at Portman Road is his first Championship assignment of the season.
