Warriors opened the scoring when Paul Lorenzen hit a great line to score from 20 metres out.

And they soon added a second try through Ian Stephenson, who squeezed in at the left-hand corner after a well-worked shift play.

A Warriors error gave the Reds good field position shortly after and they worked their way to the line, before their prop crashed over to score a converted try.

Leyland hit back again, with more fast hands down the left flank as Stephenson raced into the corner for his second.

Joe Ainscough added the touchline conversion to make it 14-6 on the stroke of half-time.

They extended their lead 10 minutes into the second half when Andy Robinson dummied his way through the line.

As he was dragged down just short, he offloaded for the supporting Danny McGrath to score.

Langworthy then enjoyed a purple patch, with some strong and elusive running, aided by a succession of Leyland errors and penalties, which saw the scores at 18-18 with 20 minutes remaining.

Leyland finally regained their composure and, with the line in sight, Ainscough took the defence on and broke through two defenders to dive over out wide and put Leyland back in front.

With 10 minutes left, Leyland again drove the ball towards the Langworthy line and Ryan Sumner capped a strong game in the middle of the pitch by crashing through the defence to score, with Ainscough adding the conversion.

Leyland were 12-0 up at the break and they started the second half with the same intensity.

George Talbot ran 40 metres and offloaded to the supporting Quinn, who sped away to score under the sticks, with Cockcoft converting.
