The Lilywhites are without a win in four games and have lost the last two.

But striker Maguire's confidence has not been dented and he believes results can start swinging back in their favour.

Maguire said: "Defeats haven't come around too often for us and the best way to react is to get back out there.

"Fortunately the next game after what happened against Brentford has come three or four days later."

Maguire scored in the 3-2 defeat to Brentford last Saturday, that his fourth goal for the club since signing from Cork City in July.

He played on the left side of Preston's attacking line, the slightly wider role one he likes.

The Republic of Ireland international said: "I'm really enjoying it.

"The way the gaffer has us playing, I drift in and out behind Jordan Hugill, I don't play as the wide man for the full 90 minutes.

"I played there earlier in my career and for part of my loan spell with Accrington a few years ago.

"I've adapted to it really well and sometimes the gaffer gives me a free role to do things."
