Thomas’ mum, Amanda revealed that his win was just reward for his work ethic and talent.

She said: “There are honestly no words to describe how proud we are of Thomas for becoming national champion.

“To watch our little boy work so hard, push through every challenge and dedicate himself completely to the sport he loves has been emotional beyond belief.

“People only see the fights, but they don’t see the early mornings, the exhaustion, the sacrifices, the nerves, the tears and the determination it has taken to get here.”
