Early strike makes it two wins from two in pre-season for Morecambe
Midfielder’s early goal gives Morecambe their second pre-season win.
Paul Lewis’ early goal proved the difference as Morecambe made it two wins from two in pre-season with Tuesday’s 1-0 victory at Northern Premier League West club Clitheroe.

The Shrimps fashioned an early chance when Isaac Buckley-Ricketts set up Taelor O’Kane, whose shot was blocked for a corner.
They broke the deadlock in the fifth minute as Elliot Newby challenged the keeper for Ben Williams’ cross.
The ball fell to Lewis, who had time and space to head into the empty net.
Clitheroe grew into the game and had a chance on 16 minutes as Morecambe keeper Joe Young denied Touray.
Neither side created anything of substance before half-time, after which the second period took a while to get going.
Morecambe came close in the 56th minute as Matty Daly crossed, but the keeper was able to intercept the ball with Buckley-Ricketts waiting to finish.
Clitheroe looked more threatening in the second half and nearly equalised in the 65th minute, but half-time substitute Myles Boney kept out Harry Scarborough’s header.
Boney was one of 10 replacements used by the Shrimps, as O’Kane was the only player to complete the full 90 minutes.
Then, on 89 minutes, a Clitheroe trialist was played in and beat Boney, but Lewis Leigh was on the line to clear the ball.
Next up for Morecambe is Saturday’s trip to Bamber Bridge (3pm).
