Lightning reveal new look

Lancashire Lightning will have a new look this summer when they defend their NatWest T20 Blast crown.

The Red Rose men will be looking to become the first team to successfully defend the title this season – and they have a new shirt to mark their campaign.

The kit, designed by official supplier Kukri, is a commemorative champions shirt.

It includes a star above the Lightning logo.

Lancashire won the trophy for the first time in their history by beating Northamptonshire Steelbacks by 13 runs at Edgbaston.

Danielle Jordan-Taft, GB and Europe sales director of Kukri, said: “We are delighted to be working with Lancashire County Cricket Club to supply the kits for the new season.

“We are proud to continue our relationship with the Red Rose County after such a successful 2015.

Lancashire start their NatWest T20 Blast defence with a fixture against Derbyshire Falcons at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday, May 21.

Red Rose captain Steven Croft said: “Our kit has been supplied by Kukri for many years and they’ve always produced fantastic gear for us.

“Not only is it important for the kit to look good and reflect our Lancashire heritage but it has to feel right and be comfortable. Kukri have got this down to a fine art.

“The Champions Star is a great touch and commemorates last year’s success.”

Lancashire supporters will get their first glimpse of the new kit when Lightning play in the Emirates T20 tournament as part of the club’s pre-season tour to Dubai next week.
