The late Maureen McKay was an enthusiastic member of the Longridge & District Clubs League where she played dominoes, Welsh don, snooker and darts for Whittingham B team, and the Memorial trophy was presented to the club by her husband Dave, a keen player himself.

This year, Dave presented the trophy to another keen Whittingham B team player, Frank Whitaker who beat club chairman Peter Parkinson into second place on points.

The evening’s competition was played as a ‘round robin’ rather than a knock-out, so that no-one was destined for an early exit, and 18 games of dominoes were played during the evening, which included a pie, peas and gravy supper.
