The world of sport - and the community of Blackpool - was in mourning today following the death of Jimmy Armfield.

Charlie Adam, who fired the Seasiders to the Premier League in 2010, wrote an emotional message on a shirt, bottom left, left beside a statue of Jimmy in Bloomfield Road.

The former Seasiders and England captain died at Trinity Hospice in Bispham this morning surrounded by family.
