Saturday afternoon’s clash at Deepdale will be Tony Pulis’ first in charge of the Owls following his appointment last week, and he’ll be looking to build on the four points that his new squad have taken from their last two outings.

As for Preston, they’ve lost three of their last five, and are yet to win a home game this season.

That disappointing form of late leaves Alex Neil’s men 13th in the Championship table, equidistant from the play-off places and the relegation zone.

And Prutton believes that their wait for victory on home turf will go on for a while longer.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the pundit said: “Preston can't seem to get going at home.

"They have lost all five at Deepdale this campaign and appear to be suffering without fans more than anyone.

“It's Tony Pulis time at Sheffield Wednesday, and it's no secret at this point what he brings to a side.

"I am predicting a rare goalless draw, which in a way I think both teams would take.”

Preston enjoyed success against Wednesday last season, completing a league double over their Championship rivals.

The Lilywhites beat the Owls 2-1 in August, before recording a 3-1 win at Hillsborough shortly after the league campaign restarted in July.

Jacob Murphy gave Wednesday the lead that day before a late flurry of goals from the visitors, including two after the 87th minute, wrapped up the three points.
