Radcliffe 2 Chorley 2: Weaver at the double to earn away point
Chorley were left wondering how they didn’t take all three points after an entertaining 2-2 draw away to Radcliffe at the Neuven Stadium.
A Lucas Weaver brace earned the Magpies a deserved point on Saturday from a game they largely controlled.

Andy Preece’s side started brightly and took the lead on 20 minutes when Harvey Smith’s deep cross was only half-cleared, allowing Weaver to fire home his first goal for the club.
Chorley continued to dominate the first half, creating several chances, but Radcliffe goalkeeper Mateusz Hewelt kept the hosts in it by making a string of fine saves.
Boro responded strongly after the break and were awarded a penalty just 10 minutes into the second half, when Jordan Hulme was brought down by Mark Ellis.
Rio Clegg converted from the spot to level the scores, although Matt Urwin went the right way but the ball ricocheted against the post and stayed in.
Radcliffe then took the lead in the 66th minute, as Callum McFadzean’s header across goal was nodded in by Hulme.
Chorley, nevertheless, refused to give up and they earned their reward deep into stoppage time.
That saw Scott Wilson’s clever pass find Weaver, who drilled a superb finish into the bottom corner.
The Magpies will now look to build on this performance in next weekend’s FA Trophy clash with Worksop Town.
