It was a close game at the Bet365 Stadium but North End’s no.9 jumped the highest to glance a header from the near post to the far post, coming off the upright to find the back of the net.
The win ended a run of three consecutive defeats for the Lilywhites and shot them back into the top half of the Championship table.
Here’s how we rated the players on the day…
13. Ben Woodburn - 6
Woodburn is very much liked by the PNE coaching staff for his intelligence in the press and he did that side of the game well against Stoke. Playing as a striker he had little in the way of chances but certainly put himself around. Photo: CameraSport - Andrew Kearns
14. Ryan Ledson - 6
A last minute sub to see out the clock, he may not have even touched the ball! Photo: CameraSport - Andrew Kearns
