It’s a sign of a good team to bounce straight back from a defeat, and that’s what Preston North End did at Nottingham Forest last weekend.

A professional performance executing a game plan to perfection and definitely one of those where the manager must take huge credit.

Alex Neil will have been drilling into his lads all week though how last Saturday means very little if they don’t beat Millwall at home this weekend.

Millwall lie in 21st position, a point above the drop zone but I feel they are a bit better than that.

It appears the odds compilers do too and I was slightly surprised to see North End priced above even money, with them being a decent 6/5 at betsid.com.

With the return of Ben Pearson adding a further boost, this looks like a decent home selection for the weekend coupon!

Louis Moult is in superb form playing the poaching role well and he can be backed at 7/1 to score first.

It’s a crossover of Manchester-Merseyside hostilities this weekend with Everton travelling to Manchester City and Manchester United heading west to take on Liverpool at what is sure to be a cauldron at Anfield!

Starting with the all blue clash at the Etihad it is hard to see Everton getting anything here, though City are clearly not easy to back at 2/9!

Pep’s men got beat last weekend at Chelsea and will be itching to put that right tomorrow lunchtime, not a good thing for the Toffees!

The 6/4 on City to win with both teams scoring is definitely more value! At Anfield on Sunday this is a big test for Liverpool against a United team short on confidence but not short on quality!

Mourinho will know the importance of this derby and the potential fallout that a drubbing could have with his job not exactly safe at the moment.

I feel he will setup to spoil and frustrate, though can this be done against Salah and co?! Again, the bookies are expecting a home victory and aren’t giving much away with 8/15 for this to happen.

They had the luck against Everton in the last minute though will they get it again? Personally, I feel the 4/1 on a score draw isn’t too far fetched and could be worth an investment!

Elsewhere in the sporting world, Liverpool boxer Rocky Fielding takes a huge step up in quality against superstar Canelo Alvarez.

Rocky is a very likeable fighter who can clearly mix it with the best though you would have to feel he is out of his league in New York tomorrow night. It really would be the fairy tale of New York should he find a way to win and the 10/1 odds suggest this.

If I had to part with some funds on this one, I would go for Alvarez grinding Rocky down on the inside and stopping Rocky in rounds 4-6 at 5/2.
