I know the squad is bigger but we’ve picked up a lot of injuries already and it’s just one of those things where I don’t think getting rest at this time of the season is a bad thing. It’s allowed us to recharge our batteries.

Facing bottom of the table...

We’re not looking at them, we’re looking at ourselves and trying to build our way up the table. It’s not about anyone else. It could be top of the league and we’d still be going for three points.

Pressing...

More teams are probably using it now to stop teams from playing out from the back. Maybe not to the extent that we were doing against Wigan and last year where we’d just go and high press the whole game. It’s one of those things where when we get it right we’re probably the best team in the league at it.

Being in the goals...

Just getting the goal against Middlesbrough was a big thing for me. If you ask any forward player you’re only ever judged on goals and not anything else. But as a winger it does get a little bit frustrating because you’re not just in the team to do that.

Last season...

I probably get unfairly judged on last season. I played a lot of games and was on the bench for the last few games because I couldn’t move basically. I think I was involved in the most goals for the team last season and that maybe gets overlooked a little bit.

Aside from the first 10 minutes I think it was a blueprint of what the manager would want. The 80 minutes summed up the manager’s style and what he wants to do. I imagine that’s one of the most satisfying wins the gaffer’s had here.

League position...

I’d be lying if I said being bottom of the league wasn’t affecting us. We weren’t playing badly though. If you were playing badly and getting pumped 5-0 every week then you’re sat around the dressing room thinking ‘we could be in trouble here’.
